The Run The Race Initiative was created to remove financial barriers and make marathon training and racing accessible to members of the Central Valley running community. Through this program, selected participants will receive the support, equipment, and community they need to train for and complete the Two Cities Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, or 5k on November 1, 2026.

Whether you're chasing your first finish line or returning to the sport after life got in the way, this initiative is designed to help individuals who have the determination to succeed but may not have the financial resources to participate.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and willing to:

  • Share how this opportunity would positively impact their life and explain their financial need.

  • Share their training journey with the running community to inspire others and help grow the program.

  • Complete a minimum of five volunteer hours with a local run club or at a race event.

  • Maintain regular communication with their designated run club captain throughout the training season.
